Antivirus Protection: Worms – The Most Dangerous Computer Virus

Viruses, Trojans and worms are the 3 common types of malware i.e. malicious software, and out of them the worms are the deadliest as they can function without any human intervention. Similar to viruses, worms also have capability to replicate themselves but are self contained i.e. they do not need a host program for propagation unlike viruses. Worms more commonly affect computer networks consisting of servers, routers and clients, even though they can cause damage similar to viruses like deletion of files, corruption of programs etc. Since the internet is just a large network of computer networks, it is very much susceptible to worm attacks.

Servers are powerful PCs with large storage capacity and store common resources that are shared by other PCs or clients in the network. Routers are used for routing network traffic and are nothing but specialized servers with customized operating system. Once released into a network, worms can replicate by themselves and hog the CPU time leaving little time for other programs to run. This leaves the network continuously busy and slows down network traffic.

Worms carry other types of malware called payloads with them. It can be spyware which surreptitiously monitors the activities of the computer or backdoor installation programs which act as hidden access points in the network and can be used to send spam or steal data or programs from the computer by hackers. MyDoom is a fast spreading worm discovered in January 2004. It was spread through emails containing the message ‘Andy, I’m just doing my job, nothing personal, sorry’. The creator of the worm was never identified but it is believed to be directed at the website of the company Santa Cruz Operation (SCO), in order slow down traffic to the website. It soon spread to other internet sites slowing down the entire internet considerably.

The worm’s payload can cause considerable damage to a computer in a network by switching off antivirus functions, opening up computer ports etc. The latter can allow data transfer to computers outside the network or delete files stealthily.

De-worming

Firewalls are designed to control network traffic and can act as shield to computers in the network by effectively cloaking them. They are reasonably effective in saving computer from worm attacks. However, worms can be distributed through emails as attachments and hence caution should be exercised when opening mail from unknown sources or unexpected files from a known source. Despite all precautions, worms may get into your system whose symptoms are slowing down of internet access, automatic reboots or sluggishness of the system. If any of these symptoms are noticed, the computer should be scanned by antivirus software immediately. If it does not help, instruction manuals on the internet could consulted for effective de worming.

Enterprise 2
I am a director of a large Logistics for a major distribution company, and I have been looking for a distribution software package to upgrade our current antiquated software. There are several good ones out there but only one of them stuck out in my mind and that was Enterprise 21.

Enterprise 21 offers software solutions to distributors and manufacturers alike. They have a powerful set-up for complete sales and management solutions and you can receive product demonstrations if you are unsure about buying software or even unsure as to what software you should buy. You can even find a complete Enterprise 21 product overview list, which will help you to find the software you are looking for; this includes a fully integrated warehouse management system.

You can upload your proposal in just seconds and if you are having trouble with an upload, you can opt to receive a free software selection tool kit to help you out. There are even Webinars that I found very helpful.

Customer Service was very accommodating and it did not take very long for them to contact me once I emailed them. I would definitely use Enterprise 21 again for updating my distribution software.

UB-04 Software
As the Chief Information Officer of a major corporation it is my job to find new software and introduce it to the company I work for. After researching a few website's I became very interested in a particular one called UB-04 Software and after introducing the company I work to UB-04 Software's website, they were to say the least, impressed.

UB-04 Software is a leader in high quality, affordable and reliable form filler software. After using their software, I felt more organized; I felt like I had more time on my hands to do other important work-related things and overall, I just felt like things were accomplished in a more efficient way. I do not have to spend hours on end trying to find new form-filler software because I got everything that I needed from UB-04 Software.

They have everything in medical billing forms and their interfaces are simple to read. There was a free ten-day trial as well, which I liked because I did not want to introduce the company I work for to a website that could not perform. In ten days, I saw just what UB-04 Software was capable of and I was so impressed that I introduce the company I work for it right away.

If you are looking for easy-to-read, easy-to-manage form-filler website and a website that has awesome customer service, there is no reason to keep looking, Ub-04 is the go-to place and I do not think there is any reason to go somewhere in the future!

Outright
As the leading financial organizer at workplace, I needed to find a website that would help me to organize the finances I have to keep organized. After looking online for a while, I thought I would never find a website that fit perfect with what I needed. However, just when I was about to give up hope, I found a website that I immediately liked from first sight.

Outright is an online accounting website that is not only safe and secure, it is so easy to use. I know what you are thinking and I was thinking the same thing about online websites, you are thinking that they are very hard to manage and extremely difficult to understand. Outright is not like that at all, instead the website is extremely easy to navigate and every element of online accounting is explained in great detail, which has helped me because I had so many questions from the start.

Outright is perfect for small businesses and self-employed individuals and they truly help businesses to stay on top of things like invoicing, receipt tracking and contact management. There is an awesome free 30-day trial, which was great for deciding if I wanted to go with Outright or not. Even though I did like what I saw from the beginning I was not so sure yet, if I wanted to go with the website or not. After that first month however, I was very impressed.

I feel more organized and Outright has helped me to accomplish that!
